Hi friends!

I've decided to create a blog to keep those back at home up to speed on my trek through Europe. Please keep yourself in tune with my travels and adventures by reading my entries and commenting as you see fit! I will post regularly (hopefully) about my crazy adventures, my classes and internship and of course what I had for breakfast. For those of you who need a refresher here is a quick recap of the plan: January 3, 2009 I leave beautiful Parkland, Washington for the equally spectacular Paris, France with 8 other students and a professor from PLU. We will be sketching and watercolor painting the city for about a month (at PLU this is called J-term, it is a mini semester where we take one concentrated class 3 hours a day for the month of January, mine just happens to be located in Paris this year). A fun fact: "Parlez vous anglais?" is the extent of my french... We could have some language barrier issues. I'm so glad I took 5 years of Spanish! On February 1, 2009 I will head over to London to live with a host family while I study and work for the rest of the semester. I am working for the graphic design department of the National Portrait Gallery in London. I am also taking 3 classes at a university for Pacific Northwest colleges called AHA. I return to the states May 11, 2009.

So stay tuned for riveting adventure stories from the London underground, unnecessary detail about fancy french cuisine and of course a few touristesque pictures! Please feel free to subscribe to my blog so you can leave comments, encouragement and advice for me.

  1. Nicole, I am so excited that you are about to embark on this adventure! You are an amazing artist so I know you'll have no problem stepping up to the plate at the National Portrait Gallery in London! It's been so fun being your roommate the past 4 months or so... I hope I get to see you when you return. I'll want to hear all about it, of course! Love you, Cait
